1.

Detailed Design of Emergency Water Supply Project in Beit Hanoun Area in Gaza Strip.

Client: UNDP/PAPP

Consultancy Objectives

The project objective is to provide detail design of the proposed water facilites in Beit Hanoun Area . The project is an output of Northern Governorate Water Facilities Master Plan. This project will aim to provide 24-hour continuous supply to Beit Hanoun Locality and to improve the drinking water quality.

 

Tasks Conducted by EMCC

Carry out the full design for:

1. One Ground Storage Tank (ST-25): The volume of the tank is 4000 m3, located beside the existing tank of Beit Lahia (ST-26) and opposite of El-Nada Towers.

2. 10 Km of water network which includes the design of new main pipes and replacement of pipes and installation of valves.

3. Rehabilitation and Reconfiguration of 9 Water Wells in the Northern Area namely A-185, A-180, C-20, A-210, C-128, C-104, A-205, C-127, C-137.

4. Rehabilitation of 4 Existing Storage Tanks in the Northern Governorate Namely ST-26 (Um-El-Nasser, 2000 m3), T4 (Beit Hanoun, 205 m3), ST-23 Jabalia Camp 5,000 m3 and T2 East of Jabalia 2,000 m3).

5. Design of about 10 km of Transmission Lines form the above mentioned wells to storage tank ST-25.

6. Review of the Hydraulic Model of Beit Hanoun Locality.

Detail Design of Emergency Water Supply Project in Tal El-Sultan Area in Rafah.

Funded by: Finnish Cooperation through Plan Center and FINIDA.

Consultancy Objectives

The project objective is to provide detail design of the proposed water facilites in Tal El-Sultan Area that contribute continuous supply and storage capacity at Tel El Sultan Zone (Z1). The project considered the design consideration in Rafah Governorate Water Facilities Master Plan. This project will aim to provide 24-hour continuous supply to Tal –El Sultan Zone and to improve the water quality distribution over Tal El-Sultan Zone.

 

Tasks Conducted by EMCC

Carry out the full design for:

1. Two water pumping stations: PS7 and PS6 with  capacity of 555 m3/hr and 320 m3/hr respectively. The two pumps are located at Tal El Sultan Storage Tank and will serve Tal El Sultan & Lower Western Rafah Area (Pressure one Z1).

2. Study the feasibility of installing small treatment unit at El Hashash Well to solve the Nitrate and Chloride problems using the EDR a/o RO techniques.

3. Two Storage Tanks: Tal El Sultan Storage Tank with volume of 3000 m3 and El Fokhary storage tank with volume of 2000 m3.

4. Water network which includes the design of new pipes and replacement of pipes and installation of valves.

5. Drilling new two wells in the settlement area (Nadar 24 & 27) wells.

6. Review of the Hydraulic Model of Tal El- Sultan Zone.

Elaboration of Water Facility Master Planning in the Northern Municipalities Governorate of Gaza Strip.

Client: Palestinian Water Authority (PWA)

Consultancy Objectives

The main objective of this consultancy is to conduct and to elaborate a consistent water facility master plan for the water supply and distribution systems of the Northern Governorate up to year 2025. The planning area embodies: Jabalia town and camp, Beit Lahia town, Beit Hanoun town, Um Nasser village in addition to El-Sheikh Zayed City.

 

Tasks Conducted by EMCC

- Data collection and review of related works.

- Assessment of the existing water supply and distribution systems of the planning area.

- Identification of the main water supply and distribution problems as well as demand needs.

- Definition of the planning basis and design criteria.

- Conceptual design of the water supply facilities (production and distribution).

- Hydraulic model analysis of the current and future water distribution systems using WaterCAD v.7 software.

- Elaboration of a realistic Master Plan based on investment priorities.

- Establish alternative scenarios for the water Master Plan.

- Inventory of specific projects for the implementation of the proposed Master Plan.

- Priority works and packaging for the proposed projects to be implemented.

- Estimate of budget for the implementation of the proposed projects in the Master Plan.

- Preparation of 3-years investment plan for the outputted projects.

- Presentation of the planning schemes, scenarios, and outputs.

- Organization of workshops to present the progress of the project and the final results.

- Provide on-job training to the Municipal staff.
